Meet our Court Reporter, Tamara Nassar!
Tamara’s journey into court reporting is truly inspiring. Back in 2013, she was a full-time mom and running a promising jewelry business. It was at the Washington Court Reporters Association’s conference in Leavenworth that year where Tamara had the opportunity to attend the conference as a jewelry vendor. Little did she know, this conference would change the course of her career! While there, Tamara discovered the fascinating world of court reporting, and she was immediately drawn to the potential and demand within the field. What started as curiosity about the profession quickly transformed into a personal calling. In 2015, Tamara enrolled at Green River College to begin her training in stenography. Five years later, a fellow colleague introduced her to the world of voice reporting. Inspired by this new avenue, Tamara pursued voice certification and proudly earned her credentials in March 2022. Tamara’s career took off quickly after she certified. She had been working as a scopist with Central Court Reporting during her time in school, and as soon as she was certified, she was put to work full-time. She continued working primarily with Central Court Reporting but in the summer of 2023 she had the chance to connect with Justin Choi, our Scheduling Manager, who she attended school with. He reached out to her about joining the B&A team. Excited about the opportunity, Tamara became a part of B&A, and since then, she’s been an indispensable asset to the team. Based in Spokane, she primarily handles virtual and in-person depositions, often covering in-person jobs on the east side of the state. Her work with B&A has kept her busy, and she’s been thrilled by the supportive and organized nature of the company. In her free time, Tamara is a proud mom to three adult children—Jacob, Joseph, and Jamie—and shares her home with her cat, Crystal. In addition to her work as a court reporter, Tamara is passionate about mentoring local reporters and educating others about voice reporting. She serves as a director on the Washington Court Reporters Association (WCRA) board, representing the voice community. When she’s not busy with court reporting or mentoring, Tamara enjoys crafting and creating dollhouses. Tamara is looking forward to buying a home and traveling more in the future!
